Assistant Director, Communications

Communications & Corporate Development Division

The Communications & Corporate Development Division provides corporate support and services to divisions including Communications, Citizen Ambassador Relations and Corporate Services. The Communications team comprises strategic communications specialists who effectively position Singapore through SIF to build ties.

Responsibilities:

We seek an accomplished leader for the role of Communications within a complex entity covering areas such as public relations, digital engagement, marketing communications, corporate publications, and internal communications.

The Assistant Director will lead the Communications team and coordinate the organisation’s overall communications strategy. He/she will work collaboratively with senior leadership to develop and implement communications strategies to broaden the impact of SIF’s programmes and oversee organisational messaging and constituent services. He/she must be able to transform knowledge into exciting and engaging messages, and communicate them to the right audiences through the best distribution channels.

Requirements:

  • Degree holder or above with minimum eight years of relevant experience,  with at least five years in a supervisory role
  • Strong communications and analytical skills
  • Able to manage a diverse portfolio of communications responsibilities
  • Highly collaborative with experience in developing and implementing communications strategies
  • Excellent writing/editing and verbal communication skills, with ability to adopt different styles to engage different audiences
  • Understanding of how to build good relationships with media
  • Highly motivated and innovative to meet objectives
  • Competency in a second language (e.g. Chinese, Malay, Tamil) would be an added advantage to liaise with multi-lingual partners
  • International experience with strong network of media contacts would be an added advantage

Senior Manager/Manager, Citizen Ambassador Relations

Communications & Corporate Development Division

The Communications & Corporate Development Division provides corporate support and services to divisions including Communications, Citizen Ambassador Relations and Corporate Services.

Responsibilities:

Our Citizen Ambassadors (CAs) recognise that Singapore sits within the global community and that there is a need for greater understanding between countries in order to build a better, more peaceful and inclusive world.  They do this through the sharing of their knowledge, skills and experiences to enrich lives, whether it is through programmes for ‘good business’, arts & culture, healthcare, education or the environment. Citizen Ambassadors are our artists, development volunteers and young social entrepreneurs, among others. Without them, the SIF would not be able to do what we do.

  • Assess organisational need and capacity of existing and potential CAs; recommend, plan & execute relevant programmes/initiatives to close identified gaps and capacity.
  • Recruitment, appointment and training of CAs.
  • Formulate and communicate direction, priorities, goals, directives, budgets, formats, and tools for CA engagement plans to increase acquisition, activation and retention of CAs.
  • Engagement of CAs through regular networking events, publicity, rewards & recognition and feedback surveys
  • Oversee the maintenance of the CA database, formulation/administration of policies and processes, to ensure a rewarding SIF engagement experience
  • Monitor performance of engagement initiatives through enterprise system and develop a model approach towards measuring the results of these initiatives in the short/mid/long term.
  • Lead and supervise the CA team on a day-to-day basis, including planning, budgeting and performance management
  • Promote the Singapore CAs and its sub- brands (e.g. the Singapore International Volunteer (SIV) group) through public education forums and build partnerships with corporations to grow the pool of CAs.

Requirements:

  • Degree holder or above with seven to ten years of relevant work experience
  • Good track record  in the field of Customer Relationship Management, Human Resource Management or Alumni Engagement
  • Experience in Event Management, Marketing and Alumni Management
  • Excellent communication skills with a flair for public speaking
  • Ability to communicate in multiple languages would be a plus
  • Good leadership qualities, creative thinker, good supervisory and team management skills

Senior Manager/Manager, Global Networks

Strategic Management Division

The Strategic Management Division is responsible for strategic and corporate planning, and budget management. Global Networks formulates and implements strategies and action plans for growing Friends of Singapore (FOS) communities overseas and in Singapore, in partnership with SIF divisions.

Responsibilities:

As a Senior Manager/Manager, you will work in small teams to formulate and implement country plans that strengthen engagement and cooperation between Singaporeans and world communities. Expect to work collaboratively with SIF programme leads for volunteer cooperation, cultural exchange, good business and ourbetterworld to advance strategic goals. You will also partner our international friends to implement alumni engagement activities overseas.

Requirements:

  • Degree holder in international relations, international marketing and communications, public policy/political science, sociology or other social sciences.
  • Six to eight years of experience in international relations or people diplomacy, strategy formulation and business development, alumni engagement, strategic communications.
  • Possesses an entrepreneurial spirit, viz. highly motivated, creative, resourceful and resilient. 
  • Good communication skills – written and spoken; proficiency in a third language is advantageous, to liaise with international stakeholders
  • Good people skills – at all levels and across sectors/professions, self-aware and a team player.  
  • Enjoys working across cultures, both locally and overseas.
  • Overseas assignments and/or experience is advantageous.

Senior Manager/Manager, Cultural Exchange

Programmes Division

The Programme Division runs a suite of programmes designed to bring people together to share ideas, skills and resources to enrich lives and effect positive change. Through Cultural Exchange programmes, we connect communities through the arts, visits and dialogues, sharing insights that build greater international understanding and fostering collaborations for a better world.

Responsibilities:

As a senior manager/manager, you will be required to initiate, plan and implement programmes to promote  cultural understanding and exchanges. You will engage with artists, thought leaders and decision makers and manage international visit programmes, dialogues and cultural initiatives that enhance cross-cultural understanding and open avenues for collaboration and the strengthening of people-to-people ties between Singaporeans and world communities.

Requirements:

  • Degree holder in international relations/marketing, humanities, or mass communications
  • At least five to eight years of relevant experience in the areas of international relations/marketing, communications, as well as partnership development and management
  • Keen interest in culture and current affairs is required
  • Strong team player who is highly motivated, meticulous and resourceful with good interpersonal and analytical skills
  • Excellent verbal and written skills in English with a strong understanding of intercultural communications and engagement; working knowledge of other languages would be an advantage to liaise with international stakeholders
  • Experience in interacting with external parties at all levels
  • Previous international experience will be considered (such as an overseas stint or high-level experience working with overseas stakeholders)

Manager, Good Business

Programmes Division

The Programme Division runs a suite of programmes designed to bring people together to share ideas, skills and resources to enrich lives and effect positive change.

Responsibilities:

As manager, he/she will be required to develop strategies and implement programmes, in the social enterprise space, particularly around young social entrepreneurs. He/She must be able to lead a virtual team, to develop a network of partners, and stakeholders in the social enterprise space. Responsibilities include initiating, planning and implementing people-to-people exchange programmes for social entreprenuers to foster ideas, share knowledge and provide support and thought leadership,  for the development of socially responsible businesses, in the region and internationally.

Requirements:

  • Degree holder preferably with honours, in business administration, finance or economics with a minimum five years of relevant experience in the areas of regional business development, international marketing, as well as programme and partnership development and management. International relations will be an added advantage.
  • Excellent team player with good interpersonal and analytical skills who is highly motivated, meticulous, resourceful and possesses initiative.
  • Strong verbal and written skills in English and keen awareness of intercultural communication and engagement; working knowledge of business Mandarin and an Asean language is preferred to liaise with regional stakeholders.
  • Experience in interacting with external parties at  all levels of seniority.
  • Previous international experience will be considered (such as an overseas stint or high level of experience working  with overseas stakeholders)

Communications & Corporate Development Division

The Communications & Corporate Development Division provides corporate support and services to divisions including Communications, Citizen Ambassador Relations and Corporate Services. The Communications team comprises strategic communications specialists who effectively position Singapore through SIF to build ties.

Responsibilities:

An experienced and savvy marketing communications specialist who is adept at developing and implementing integrated communication plans with a strong content strategy to expand online community reach, engage and build relationships with online influencers to effectively generate good  coverage of SIF projects. He/she is passionate about the developments in social media and demonstrates strong capability on campaign executions across SIF social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, Pinterest and Youtube).  He/She will also contribute to build the reach of SIF web properties and strong engagement with online community through SEO, SEM, other online marketing activities and partnerships.

  • Degree holder or above with minimum  three to five years of relevant experience
  • Strong communications specialist with good analytical skills
  • Ability to manage a diverse portfolio of communications responsibilities

Officer (Temp), Volunteer Cooperation

Programmes Division

The Programme Division runs a suite of programmes designed to bring people together to share ideas, skills and resources to enrich lives and effect positive change. Through Volunteer Cooperation programmes, we build networks between Singapore and Asia through SIF volunteers whose work contribute to positive and sustainable development in Asian communities.

Responsibilities:

  • Administrative support in implementing Direct Services (DS) projects in Asian communities
  • Coordination with host agencies on standard logistics and administrative arrangements
  • Coordination on volunteers’ travel programmes with Volunteers Management team
  • Assistance in overseas events managed by Country Managers

Requirements:

  • Graduate or undergraduate of University or Polytechnic with relevant experience
  • Good communication skills in English with high proficiency in writing
