Words on Wheels Launches in Yogyakarta to Promote Literacy and Foster Singapore-Indonesia Collaboration

Singapore Minister for Communications and Information, Dr Yaacob Ibrahim describes it as a vehicle of friendship – bringing Indonesians and Singaporeans together to share ideas and cultures through their mutual love for books. The reading programme will increase the number of beneficiaries to 30,000 school children, doubling its social impact in Indonesia.

As part of our Arts for Good initiative, SIF was proud to be the main partner for CausewayEXchange 2017!

The annual arts exchange platform, which aims to foster greater collaboration between Singapore and Malaysia, brought together medical professionals, artists and members of the public to explore the role of the arts in medicine and therapy.


In the Spirit of Gotong Royong (Community Cooperation), Singaporean and Indonesian Artists Collaborate on Arts for Social Impact
What started out as a creative education programme for an orphanage led to the production of a music album a year later! An initiative of Indonesian jazz musician Nita Aartsen and Singaporean composer Clement Chow, "Songs from the Heart of Kupang" featured voices from residents of the Roslin Orphanage alongside international musicians.
