Assistant Director, Finance

Duties and Responsibilities:

You will manage the full spectrum of financial functions including :

  • Managing the day-to-day operations of the Finance Department;
  • Ensuring effective internal controls and proper financial records and procedures are in place, well-documented and reviewed for continuous improvement;
  • Ensuring proper budgeting, accurate invoicing and accounting of grants and expenditure, including compliance with the disclosure requirements of SIF’s funders;
  • Preparing, analysing and presenting the annual budget and financial reports to management
  • Ensuring procedures are in place and timely filing of returns are made to comply with SIF’s  governing document, the Charities Act, the Companies Act and other relevant laws and regulations;
  • Liaising with internal and external auditors and implementing audit recommendations;
  • Preparing updates to the Audit Committee, Investment Committee, Executive Committee and Board of Governors on financial and corporate governance issues;
  • Providing advice to department heads on financial and budgetary matters.

Requirements:

  • Relevant Degree from recognised university, with at least 3 years' working experience in related fields
  • Background in fostering corporate/community partnerships, developing philanthropic efforts, or in networking and marketing
  • Experience in project planning & coordination; overseas volunteering an advantage
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Independent yet a team player; driven and displays initiative
  • Creative, with strong analytical skills and outcome oriented

Assistant Manager, Community Partnerships

Responsibilities:

  • Identify, develop and grow corporate sponsors & community partners, engaging them in capacity building & community development work in disadvantaged communities overseas, and facilitating international volunteerism by their members
  • Seek creative ways to attract and engage partners while ensuring fruitful cooperative efforts and extending outreach to the wider community
  • Design, plan and implement direct service projects in overseas communities, sponsored by Singapore corporations and involving overseas community partners
  • Network with international NGOs and coordinate collaborative projects

Requirements:
