Arts Therapy International Humanitarian Mission
February to November 2016 | Erbil, Kurdistan
The SIF partnered Red Pencil International and Jiyan Foundation to conduct a three-step train-the-trainer programme for 20 psychotherapists who are working with Syrian children living at Qushtapa camp in Erbil, Kurdistan. The programme equipped participants with art therapy knowledge and skills which were incorporated into their psychotherapeutic approaches. This programme is part of SIF’s Arts for Good initiative, which seeks to promote awareness of social issues, share best practices and enable action for positive social impact through the arts.
The SIF’s Arts for Good initiative seeks to contribute to positive social change through collaborations between Singaporean artists and their international counterparts, as well as galvanise greater community involvement in sustainable change.
