The Singapore-Australia YBA Programme 2000 - 2003
The Singapore-Australia Young Business Ambassadors (YBA) Programme was inaugurated in March 2000 with Australian partner Asialink Centre.
As SIF’s first YBA programme, the new initiative was endorsed by 10 private and public sectors in Singapore and Australia. During its four-year run, 16 Singaporeans and 14 Australians had the opportunity to spend eight to 10 weeks in the host country on a work attachment.
The Singapore-China YBA Programme 2004 - Present
The Singapore-China YBA programme was inaugurated in 2004, when a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between SIF, the Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Foreign Experts and the Shanghai People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries.
The first batch of eight Singapore-China YBAs started their 10-week stint in both countries in June 2004.
The MOU was extended in 2008 and more recently in 2010 for another three years. To date, 22 Singaporeans and 24 Chinese have gone through the programme while 22 Singapore companies have been host companies.
The Singapore-India YBA Programme beginning in 2011
The SIF signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in January 2011 to launch a partnership for the YBA India programme.
The programme will kick off in Mumbai in 2012 and may be extended to other cities in the following years.
