Our Programmes

What we look out for

1. Based on the needs or requests of the host agency

Upon an initial favourable assessment of a host agency request by SIF, we would approach known specialists in the relevant sector to ask if they are interested in the project. Following exploratory discussions, SIF might invite the most suitable specialists (based on skills, interest, commitment and personal attributes) to carry out a feasibility study to ascertain the viability of the project proposed. Once the viability of the project is affirmed, a team made up of persons with specific skills and experience will be formed to carry out the project.

The team leader and SIF mutually ensure that the selected team members meet the basic requirements of having the right skills, real interest in volunteering overseas, a high level of commitment and positive personal attributes.

2. Based on relevant skills offered or interest to volunteer overseas by Singapore skilled professionals

Occasionally, Singapore skilled professionals keen on volunteering to provide training overseas approach SIF for possible collaborations. If there is a high potential for collaboration and benefit to specific host communities or agencies, SIF will initiate an exploration of the proposed project.

SIF will simultaneously assess volunteers based on skills, interest, commitment and personal attributes and invite them to carry out a feasibility study to ascertain the viability of the project. When project viability is established, SIF then invites the specialist to form a team made up of persons with specific skills and experience to carry out the project.

Again, the team leader and SIF mutually ensure that team members selected meet the basic requirements of having relevant skills, interest in volunteering overseas, high commitment level and positive personal attributes.
