YBAs Selection Criteria:

1. Be below 35 years old;
2. Be Singapore citizen or Singapore permanent resident residing in Singapore or Indian/Chinese citizen or Indian/Chinese permanent resident residing in India/China;
3. Has at least three years’ professional experience, good work performance and has the potential for management positions in his/her respective companies;
4. Graduated from a recognised university with a good degree
5. Is able and keen to represent his/her country overseas, and to learn about Singapore or India/China;
6. Is an effective communicator, has  strong interpersonal skills and is able to network and build business and social contacts; and
7. Is adaptable, thrives on new challenges and enjoys new experiences
8. Proficient in both spoken and written English and Mandarin (for YBA Shanghai)

Selected candidates should also demonstrate the following:

• Be committed to fulfil the full 12-week programme at the host organisation and participate in associated activities organised by SIF and the overseas partners
• Contribute to the host organisation by performing required duties and sharing their professional knowledge and experience with their peers
• Initiate and actively seek exchange of ideas and knowledge on the professional as well as intercultural level
• Further the friendly relations with the host country, building on the friendship forged on a personal level, and networks made on a professional level
• Conduct themselves appropriately as ambassadors of their country

YBAs will be provided with the following during their participation in the programme:

• 10-week work placement in the host country
• Networking opportunities with counterparts from the private and public sector in the host country
• Return economy class air passage
• Basic travel insurance
• Visa
• Accommodation for the duration of the programme
• Living allowance
