Our Programmes

“(The Singapore – India YBA programme) is an excellent opportunity for young business professionals from both countries to broaden their business perspectives and contribute towards building a network of friends and professional linkages between Singapore and India” – Mr Lim Hng Kiang, Minister for Trade and Industry, speaking at the SIF-CII MoU Signing Ceremony on 14 Jan 2011
The Young Business Ambassadors is a flagship SIF programme where outstanding young professionals spend up to 12 weeks immersed in the all-round experience of working and living in partner countries such as China and India.
Aside from the opportunity to work in a related industry, appointed ambassadors will also visit relevant organisations and government agencies, and network with business leaders, community leaders and government officials.
This overseas exposure offers a valuable opportunity to develop global perspectives, share work experience, build international business links, and gain an understanding of foreign business environments.
Since 2000, a total of 76 Young Business Ambassadors have participated in the SIF YBA Programme in Shanghai, Melbourne and Sydney.
In 2011, we will be offering four outstanding young professionals a chance to embark on this programme in Shanghai and Mumbai respectively. Participants will be placed in relevant sectors including the financial services, hospitality, IT, telecommunications, arts and culture, the social sector and other major industries.
We also invite corporations with a keen interest in building professional ties with China and India to nominate their outstanding staff for the programme.
Organisations which have participated in the YBA programme in Singapore include The Esplanade Co, CapitaLand Ltd, DBS Bank, OCBC, Shook Lin & Bok LLP, SIM University, Singapore Airlines Ltd, UOB, Starhub Ltd, and Surbana Corporation Pte Ltd, amongst others.
