Our Programmes

What it is?

The Singapore International Foundation (SIF) wants to help you make a difference and is organising an in-residence programme for aspiring young social entrepreneurs from 3 to 7 March 2010 at the Fort Canning Lodge.

To encourage cross-cultural collaboration, the Young Social Entrepreneurs programme is open not just to Singaporeans but also to Asian youths. Up to six teams will get to participate in an intensive and exciting training programme to learn the fundamentals of starting a social enterprise. These teams will also get to pitch their business ideas and stand a chance to win a $3,000 cash prize.

During the week, established social entrepreneurs and mentors share knowledge & experience in:

  • Business plan development;
  • Enterprise structure;
  • Fund-raising;
  • Leadership skills
  • Pitching,
  • Social impact assessment

Participants will have an opportunity to refine their business plans with the speakers and mentors. There will also be a field trip to a local social enterprise.

How you can be a part of this?

Apply as a team of three or four members, come up with a 3-page business plan for a social enterprise that effectively addresses the community development need you identified. We will select the most promising teams, and guide you on the journey of transforming your idea into a social enterprise.

No idea is too small to make a big difference.

Application for the programme closes on 8 January 2010.
