FORUM Research Paper - Emerging Perspectives on International Volunteerism in Asia

This report presents the current challenges and emerging perspectives in international volunteerism in Asia.

Evidence from the Asian region is very scant as compared with Europe and the Americas, yet there is increasing activity and new forms of partnerships developing in the Asian region. To date, there has been no comprehensive study focusing on Asia, hence the importance of a comprehensive review. The aim of this research is two-fold: First, it is a mapping exercise on the current trends and challenges of international volunteerism in Asia. Second, it provides evidence for an informed discussion on the way forward for international volunteerism in Asia.
