Friendship Express

Fifty Asian youths of eight nationalities - Burmese, Chinese, Indian, Indonesian, Filipino, Malaysian, Singaporean and Thai - participated in the Singapore International Foundation's new Friendship Express programme for bridging communities from 11 to 23 June. By taking part in this expedition, they gained insights and a better appreciation of different cultures, strengthen camaraderie and make friends with communities in Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand, through learning, collaborating on community projects, as well as living and travelling together.

Friendship Express 2013

50 student leaders from Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Brunei, Vietnam and China embarked on SIF’s second annual Friendship Express (FX) programme from 16 to 29 September 2013 for making friends and strengthening camaraderie among these student leaders and with communities in the region. The two-week multimodal learning journey spanned Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia, and involved FX participants in cultural appreciation and exchange, engagements with more than 100 peers and local community members, as well as collaborations on social innovation projects with the latter to nurture the spirit of social responsibility, and encourage the application of knowledge gained from school and the new insights from the FX programme to the benefit of society.
