Arts and Disability International Conference

Drawing about 350 international and local participants from the public, private, and people sectors, this event was the third edition of the annual Arts & Disability Forum. Participants took part in discussions about how to harness arts and culture to build an inclusive society.

The SIF contributed to this conference as a Principal Partner, working closely with co-organisers National Arts Council and Very Special Arts to continue exchanges and foster leadership within the disability sector. In the spirit of growing an Arts for Good network within the region, we also hosted 10 participants from Southeast Asia at the conference. This group comprised artists, art administrators, educators and social welfare programmers.

Along with Very Special Arts, the SIF also supported the world premiere of I Forgot to Remember to Forget and My Home is Not a Shell, staged by No Strings Attached Theatre of Disability. This theatre showcase was performed to a full house at the True Colours Festival, which was held in conjunction with the conference.
