Meet our Impact Media Fellows (2022)

Alfonsus Adi Putra is a Creative Writer for Health, Technology, and Science desks at IDN Times (part of IDN Media). He also hosts HealthTalk, a biweekly IDN Times talk show covering various health topics, on Instagram Live.

He graduated from Bunda Mulia University in 2018, having taken English Literature as his major. Despite starting his career as a translator, he found his passion in journalism when he was working at Xinhua News Agency in 2019 and a freelance contributor for IDN Times in 2020.

Arjun Yadav is the editorial lead for energy and infrastructure verticals at BW Businessworld, one of India’s oldest business magazines with more than 40 years of legacy. He holds a multimedia role in the organisation, working across print, online and video platforms, specialising in visual news presentations.

His interests lie in global energy transition to fight the climate emergency and the post-Covid economic recovery through infrastructure development remain the focus under these verticals.

Christy Yip is a journalist at CNA Insider, the features arm of CNA Digital. She writes long-form stories, with particular interest in mental health, neurodivergence and social affairs. She also dabbles in documentary production and photojournalism.

Dinh Vu Nhat Hong is a reporter covering social issues at Viet Nam News through written stories and videos. She has deep interests in education, reducing inequalities and building a more inclusive society for all. Being new to journalism, Hong has a strong desire to learn the craft and its power to create social change.

Gunjan Sharma is Chief Correspondent for Press Trust of India (PTI). With over 10 years’ experience, she has reported on multiple beats including education, social issues, science and technology, and most recently, COVID-19.

Gunjan’s current beat at PTI includes education and child rights issues. The changing dynamics of education sector in COVID-19 and post COVID-19 era, glaring digital divide, unrest at various Indian universities campuses, India opening its door for foreign universities to set up campuses, are among the recent topics she has covered.

Indrastuti (Iin) is an editor at Media Indonesia. An avid fan of reading since she was young, she feels that her work as a journalist cannot be separated from the world of reading. Iin is very interested in animal welfare topics and hopes to learn more about it. She looks forward to exchanging insights with her peers through the Impact Media Fellowship.

Kristian Erdianto is an assistant editor at Kompas.com. Prior to this, he worked at a research institute, as a writer at Voice+ magazine, which focuses on social initiatives and activism.

His interests are in human rights, politics, and law issues - issues related to humanity. These interests are oftentimes manifested in the articles that he writes.

Zoe Li is a journalist at the 21st Century Business Herald. She has 10 years’ working experience in financial media, focusing on topics such as carbon neutralisation, climate investment and financing, green finance, ESG and others.

She has experience working in mainstream media in China, including CCTV and Caijing Magazine.

Liu Bo is the Opinion Editor of FTChinese.com. He holds a Master's degree in economic law from Sun Yat-sen University School of Law. He is also a translator of more than a dozen academic books.

Low Youjin is a senior journalist focusing on environment, manpower, as well as court and crime. He joined TODAY in 2016 after working as a photo editor at Thomson Reuters, and as a freelance production crew member before that.

Mythreyee Ramesh is a Senior Correspondent at the Quint. She is a multimedia journalist who is committed to telling stories on gender and sexuality. Over the last five years in the profession, she has experimented with formats including video and audio modes of telling a story.

Myth has reported on stories from across India - including Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Jaipur. She is keen to tell stories of gender-based violence, women in workforce, and all things concerning the LGBTQIA+ community.

Nguyen Thi Duc Hanh has 24 years’ working experience as a reporter, production supervisor and managing editor for leading Vietnamese business newspapers, including Vietnam Investment Review and Vietnam Economic Times, and tourism and leisure magazines The Guide, Vietnam Discovery, Heritage and Timeout.

Duc Hanh is passionate about writing on social issues such as women equity, sustainable development, environment, organic agriculture, and green economy. Duc Hanh also has experience handling multi-media projects and organising livestreams and offline talk shows, roundtables in blockchain, digital transformation, empowering women, ESG, and CSR, among others.

Sam Sopich is a news reporter at Cambodianess, covering stories on youth empowerment in education, entrepreneurship, leadership, and technology. He hopes to contribute to society and raise awareness to encourage young people to strengthen their capacity through his journalism work. He strongly believes that through his contribution, there will be a positive impact in Cambodia.

Thai Sothea is currently co-founder and editor of online publication Cambonomist.com – an emerging source of business-related news and information in Cambodia, and a core member of a journalist association CamboJA. Sothea has 15 years’ experience in the fields of public relations and journalism ranging from online to radio and TV.

Sothea has also has experience working with international news crew like US TV ABC, and Channel NewsAsia to produce news and documentaries. Most recently, he has also co-founded an English online media covering business, tech, and startups - www.kiripost.com
