Ms Zuraidah Ibrahim was appointed as a member of the Singapore International Foundation’s Board of Governors in 2024.

Zuraidah is the Executive Managing Editor of the South China Morning Post, Hong Kong’s main English-language news publication. She supervises its Hong Kong, Asia and international coverage as well as its photo, graphics and student papers. She also oversees This Week in Asia, an award-winning current affairs magazine. 

She was previously the deputy editor of Singapore’s largest English daily, The Straits Times. Among her published books are Lee Kuan Yew: Hard Truths to Keep Singapore Going (Straits Times Press, 2011), a monograph on the Opposition in the Singapore Chronicles series (Institute of Policy Studies, 2017) and Rebel City: Hong Kong’s Year of Water and Fire (SCMP Publishers, 2020). Her previous board involvement included stints on the Singapore Kindness Movement, National Heritage Board, Gardens by the Bay and School of the Arts, Singapore.

She studied at the National University of Singapore and the University of California, Berkeley.
