1. Eligibility

1.1 Who can apply for this support under Arts for Good Projects?

  • Applicants should be arts and culture practitioners, creative professionals or programmers with prior experience working with global communities through the arts.
  • Applicants can be based anywhere in the world, but the project must clearly contribute to connecting Singapore and global communities and facilitating engagements with different communities.
  • Applicants who collaborate with Singaporeans, Singaporean Permanent Residents or engage with Singaporean and Asian communities will be viewed favourably.
  • Individuals or groups may apply. All applications must have either an individual or a legally constituted organisation to take legal and financial responsibility for administrative purposes.

1.2. Given the current COVID-19 situation, what kind of projects can be carried out?

1.3. May I submit more than one application?

    Yes, you may, but only if they are of different projects. Each application is assessed on its own merit.

1.4. What are the types of projects not eligible for support?

    Projects of the following nature will not be eligible:

    • Are not art or culture related projects.
    • Do not have a clear social purpose.
    • Do not connect Singapore and global communities.
    • Do not engage with or benefit different communities across borders.
    • Are supported substantially by or presented under the auspices of other organisations.
    • Have already commenced prior to the time of application.
    • Have fundraising purposes.
    • Are intended specifically for academic and/or religious purposes.
    • Do not adhere to official guidelines stipulated by government bodies, such as social distancing practices and travel restrictions.

2. Evaluation

2.1. What criteria does SIF look out for in evaluating an application?

    Eligible application will be assessed according to the following criteria:

    • Strength of your artistic practice and/or professional career.
    • Strength of project’s ability to connect Singapore and global communities to foster international collaboration.
    • Strength of project’s reach and quality of engagement with and participation by different communities to promote cross-cultural understanding and positive social change.
    • Strength of your capacity and commitment to plan and execute the project.

2.2. May I appeal the outcome of the application?

    All outcomes are final and we are unable to review any appeals. 

3. Support and Funding

    3.1. What financial support will the SIF provide to successful Arts for Good Projects?

    Successful applicants will receive financial support of up to 100% of project expenses, capped at S$20,000 per project.

    Support will be provided for expenses associated with general project development, resources and materials, publicity and marketing, documentation, logistics and access needs.

    Support will not be provided for expenses associated with operational overheads such as rental costs, purchase of assets, personal training and expenses.

    The financial support will be disbursed in two disbursements, as summarised in the table below. Disbursements will be credited to you or your organisation’s recognised bank account. Bank charges for non-Singapore bank transactions will be borne by the applicant.

    50% of the support upon confirmation and submission of the Letter of Agreement. 50% of thesupport upon successful completion of project and clear delivery of outputs and outcomes as committed. This should be captured in the post-project report to be submitted within 4 weeks of project closure.

    In some cases, we will be able to amend the disbursement structure. Please discuss with us if you need a different disbursement structure.

3.2. Can the financial support cover 100% of the project budget?

    Yes, you may apply for 100% of the project budget. The SIF will provide financial support of up to 100% of project expenses, capped at S$20,000 per project.

    It is not necessary for you to have your own funding sources in order to be eligible for application. However, if you are seeking co-financing for the project, you must state clearly the levels of co-financing.

    Projects that are supported substantially by or presented under the auspices of other organisations are not eligible for consideration.

5. Application Process

5.1. How do I apply?

    Apply online via this application form: https://form.jotform.com/artsforgood/a4gprojects

    The online application form will take about 30 minutes to complete. Please set aside enough time to complete the form. Curriculum Vitae (CV) of the applicant and project collaborators must be submitted with your application.

    Applications must be submitted in English. Applications received in other languages will not be considered.

5.2. When is the application deadline?

    The application deadline is SUNDAY, 7 June 2020, 23:59hrs GMT +8 (click here to convert to your local time).

    • Incomplete applications will not be considered.
    • Applications not received by the deadline will not be considered.

    Note: Please allow an appropriate amount of time based on your Internet’s speed to upload the all your documents before the deadline.

6. Timeline

6.1. When will I know the result of my application?

    Application results will be released in July 2020.

6.2. Is there a timeline in which the projects should take place? Can projects continue into 2021?

    The projects should be completed by 31 December 2020. Projects may continue into 2021, subject to discussion and approval by the SIF.

7. Obligations

7.1. If my application is successful, what will happen next?

    You will be notified by the SIF via email and be contacted for further discussion. You will have to sign a Letter of Agreement that includes Terms & Conditions specific to your project. Unless stated otherwise, the finalized Letter of Agreement will be valid for one (1) week from the date of notification.
