Young Social Entrepreneurs
Our Young Social Entrepreneurs (YSE) programme inspires, equips and enables youth of different nationalities to start or scale up their social enterprises in Singapore and beyond.
Since 2010, the YSE programme has nurtured a network of youth with innovative business ideas focused on social good. Together with established social entrepreneurs, business consultants and investors, we harness the power of ideas, know-how and resources to effect positive change for a better world.

16 social enterprises comprising 38 young changemakers from Bhutan, Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, the United States and Vietnam were shortlisted into the eight-month Young Social Entrepreneurs (YSE) 2018 programme in 21 to 24 March. Over the next few months, they will go through a mentorship scheme with leading business professionals and experienced entrepreneurs, a week-long experiential study visit in Singapore, and regroup at the end of the year to pitch for up to SGD20,000 each to launch or scale their social enterprises. Read more about the YSE 2018 Workshop here and these aspiring changemakers here.
YSE launched our overseas workshops in Kuala Lumpur and Mumbai in 2017, and conducted a second run of the YSE Jakarta Workshop this year to further engage young changemakers in the region. Through the overseas workshops, YSE brings together Singaporeans, local leaders and business practitioners in the social entrepreneurship landscape to exchange best practices with the participants. More updates available here.
16 shortlisted teams went through an eight-month programme comprising a four-day workshop in Singapore, a mentorship scheme and a study visit to Mumbai. These young changemakers representing Australia, Indonesia, India, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and the USA, pitched their business ideas during the YSE 2017 Pitching for Change, held on 3 November 2017. Out of which, six teams were awarded S$20,000 each to further develop their social enterprise ideas. Find out more about the winning teams here.
